Back to Online Worship – a message from Council

It is with heavy hearts that Sylvan Council members have decided to forgo in-person worship services, effective immediately, including Christmas Eve, until it is determined that the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 virus has been brought under control. While Provincial regulations allow for in-person worship services with restrictions, the sudden rise in infection rates combined with recent correspondence from the Pacific Mountain Regional Council of the United Church of Canada reminded us that by switching to online services and keeping congregations at home is the safest option. Effectively it is giving the gift of life this Christmas.

Although we are not able to meet in person for fellowship, Council is gladdened by the thought of members of our congregation celebrating Christmas safely with family. Worship will continue, please look to the Life and Work email for connections to the many online options available. We look forward to gathering again in the new year with renewed hope. Let every heart prepare Him room!
