George Pringle Memorial Camp (Camp Pringle)

OUR PURPOSE
Our purpose is to create a positive welcoming, inclusive community with openness to joy and wonder while allowing space to have deep and authentic conversations. We want to foster hope for the future through a deep connection to the land and one another.
ABOUT CAMP PRINGLE
George Pringle Memorial Camp has been the site of unforgettable camping experiences for over 75 years. Established in 1950, located on 20 acres in the heart of Shawnigan Lake; is a non-profit organization providing youth and adults with a transformative inclusive community, fostering personal and spiritually growth while building resilience. With our dedicated staff and volunteers, we create a safe and nurturing environment for campers to learn, grow and create lasting memories. “A Week that Last a Lifetime!”
Activities at Camp Pringle are guided by the philosophy of ‘challenge-by-choice’. Campers will never be forced to do an activity but will be encouraged by staff to try new experiences. Camp staff endeavour to design and deliver program options which are safe, active, meaningful, engaging, and appropriate to the age and interests of each camper. Activities are structured to allow time for everyone to assess their own level of comfort, proceed at their own pace and accomplish their own goals within the timeframe of the session.
Registration for the 2026 Summer is now open! Give you child the gift of camp this summer!

How has camp changed my life and the lives of so many!
A Parent’s Heartfelt Reflection on Her Experience
Camp Pringle has been a formative part of my family’s life for over 20 years. I first became involved when my children were young, volunteering each summer as a Camp Mom and supporting campers and staff in many ways — from helping anxious children feel safe, to assisting program leaders, serving meals, and contributing to the overall life of the camp.
As my children grew, they progressed through Camp Pringle’s leadership pathway as campers, Crew members, Counsellors-in-Training, and eventually full staff. Through this experience, they were mentored by strong, compassionate youth leaders who modeled empathy, responsibility, and service.
Today, my son works as a house parent at a local school and is pursuing a career in teaching. Over the years, I have witnessed many young people develop at Camp Pringle and go on to become ethical, caring leaders and active contributors to their communities. Camp Pringle’s long-term impact is evident in the number of alumni who continue to work with children and youth, carrying forward the values and skills they gained at camp.
