We are a warm and inclusive congregation who enjoy being together in Worship on Sunday mornings and at other times during the year. We see ourselves as being welcoming and have a good representation of age groups at our services — children are always welcomed and included.
On a Sunday morning, you will often find a variety of people participating in the worship service. Communion is held on the 1st Sunday of every month. There may be members of the congregation reading and doing prayers. This includes involvement from our youth as well. The messages from the pulpit are always thought-provoking and are of high quality. The Sylvan choir has around 24 members who are all eager and involved with the music life. They are always appreciated.
There are opportunities to worship with the Sylvan community, not only on Sunday mornings but at other times during the week and year. Some of the other services offered are: a monthly Jazz Vespers, services centering around our Labyrinth and the equinox and solstice, monthly services at a long term care facility in Shawnigan Lake, as well as Ash Wednesday and Good Friday services.
Our Sanctuary is place of joy and contemplation where people can come to reflect in the space, meditate and be in the company of others while listening to the message, the music or taking in the beautiful art on the walls.
