The United Church Campus Ministry uses meditation as an entry point to build spiritual awareness, Christian community and leadership for the “un churched”. We are pleased to contribute to the soup suppers on a rotational basis with other contributors. The soup suppers are done every second Thursday and they help the student build connection and a sense of belonging as they share in a simple supper.
Sylvan provides the soup supper twice a year, fall and spring semesters.
Our contribution is soup, buns, veggies & dip, marg, and themed cookies. The students are really appreciative, all 40 plus of them. Over the year the students learn to meditate, but also form supportive friendships and have an older counsellor to help them navigate the trials and tribulations of being away from home. Rev. Henri Lock is doing a great job with this terrific group of young people and Sylvan is happy to support this outreach.
