We have many different ways in which you can donate to the ministry of Sylvan United.
Offering envelopes are available through the church office. It is possible to designate your contribution to General Funds, the Mission and Service Fund or other funds as specified by yourself. Contributions made in this form are eligible for a tax-receipt.
Pre-Authorized Remittance, or PAR, is a “direct debit” program that allows people to support the church through an automatic monthly withdrawal from their bank account..
PAR donations may also be designated to General Funds, M&S, or other funds as specified by you. Contributions made in this form are eligible for a tax-receipt.
Planned gifts are generally funded from accumulated resources or assets, rather than income. The most common Planned Gift received by the church is a bequest. The tax benefit form a bequest accrues to the donor’s estate. The Gift Planning Office of The United Church can also arrange several gifts which allow you to make a gift in the future, but receive the tax benefits now. You can designate your Planned Gift to any aspect of The United Church of Canada, e.g., the Mission and Service Fund, your local congregation, a local mission unit, a United Church camp, a theological college – the possibilities are abundant and rich with the excitement of giving!

Memorial Gifts A donation in memory of a person or event can be made at any time. Envelopes are available at the church office and at the front entrance to the sanctuary. The donations are deposited into a special Memorial Fund. If you require more information, contact the office.
Cash Gifts and Interest Free Loans Cash gifts can be arranged to deliver optimum tax benefit. An interest free loan can give the church income from capital which is not taxable to either the church or to you, the donor.
Wills and Bequests

Gift Annuity A gift annuity returns a competitive rate of income to you, most or all of which is tax free, and a residue which goes to the church work of your choice.
